Expeditions

Our expert guides, well-versed in the art of astrophotography and overlanding, lead participants through diverse landscapes, spanning majestic mountains to captivating deserts. These immersive experiences provide unparalleled opportunities to capture the Milky Way against stunning backdrops, revealing the cosmic tapestry in its full glory.

Participant Policy

1. Overlanding Readiness:

Participants are required to come prepared for overlanding adventures, equipped with their own camping gear, food supplies, and photography equipment. It is essential that attendees are self-sufficient, as we embark on unique and remote locations where amenities may be limited.

2. Unpredictable Weather

The beauty of astrophotography lies in its unpredictability, and while we cannot control the weather, we can provide an exceptional learning experience. In the event of unforeseen weather conditions affecting the planned night shoots, we will offer alternative activities and instruction, but refunds will adhere to our designated policy. Please review our refund policy for more details.

3. Campsite Flexibility

While we strive to showcase iconic locations, we cannot guarantee camping at exact spots depicted in promotional materials. Respect for fellow nature enthusiasts is paramount, and we will be considerate of the space shared with others in these beautiful landscapes. We also practice Leave No Trace Wilderness Etiquette and expect the same from our participants.

4. Sheltered Space and Free Time

Adequate sheltered spaces will be provided for post-processing sessions during the day. Participants will also have free time for day photography, allowing exploration and creativity beyond the nightly Milky Way sessions.

5. Late Nights for Celestial Spectacles

Our workshops involve staying up late into the night to witness the captivating dance of the moon and the Milky Way. Participants should be prepared for late-night excursions and understand that this unique experience is essential for capturing the celestial beauty we seek.

Equipment Policy

To ensure a seamless and enriching experience during our workshops, participants are required to bring their own equipment, including:

1. Computer with Software:

Participants must bring a laptop computer equipped with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop software. These essential tools will be utilized during post-processing sessions to enhance your astrophotography skills.

2. DSLR Camera:

Each participant is expected to bring a Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera. Familiarity with your camera's settings and functions is crucial, as our workshops focus on hands-on shooting techniques and night sky photography.

3. Steady Tripod

A reliable and sturdy tripod is essential for capturing crisp and clear long-exposure shots. Ensure your tripod is in good condition and can securely support your camera equipment in various outdoor settings.

4. Fast Lens:

Participants should bring a fast lens with a wide aperture, preferably at least f/2.8. A lens with a wide aperture allows for better light capture in low-light conditions, enhancing your ability to photograph the Milky Way.

5. Intervalometer:

An intervalometer is a vital tool for capturing time-lapse sequences and long-exposure shots. Ensure your intervalometer is compatible with your camera model and that you are familiar with its operation.

By arriving with the specified equipment, participants will maximize their learning experience and be well-prepared to actively engage in all aspects of our Milky Way photography workshops. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your equipment, feel free to contact us in advance for guidance.

Under the vast canvas of stars, our step-by-step process guides participants through the intricacies of nighttime photography, leveraging the moon's natural illumination to enhance foregrounds. We delve into the nuances of long exposures and low-level lighting, empowering attendees to master the techniques essential for crafting stunning Milky Way compositions.

During the day, our focus shifts to hands-on post-processing training, where our skilled instructors share in-depth insights, providing a comprehensive understanding of how to transform raw images into captivating, professionally edited photographs. This dual approach ensures that participants not only capture breathtaking shots under the night sky but also develop the skills needed to bring their celestial visions to life through post-processing.
